About EMI Test Lab
We're a Veteran owned Engineering and Consulting Test Lab specializing
in Electro Magnetic Interference with emphasis on FCC and CE Mark
requirements for EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility). We're located
close to the foothills of the Rockies near Boulder and Longmont,
Colorado.
Different than most test labs - at EMI Test Lab you actually
work with an EMC Engineer, you don't pay extra for Engineering advice.
Dennis King has 33 years of experience in the field of Electro Magnetic
Compatibility. Most of those 33 years Dennis worked in the lab helping
literally hundreds of Electrical and Mechanical Design Engineers
re-design their products to meet EMI Standards. As a co-inventor
on an EMC Design Patent, Dennis worked with products up to 40 GHz.
After working for Test Houses and fortune 500 companies such as
3Com and Xerox, it's been our experience over the past 30 years
that most products have difficulty passing the Radiated Emissions
portion of the testing. That's why we've set up the lab to focus
on helping Mechanical and Electrical Engineers solve difficult emissions
related design issues, although we do have facilities for other
tests as well.
Failing EMI tests can greatly affect a product's time to market.
To minimize test time and maximize results we acquired an EMCO 5317
GTEM cell, the largest GTEM made by EMCO (now ETS-Lindgren). When
time to market is an issue, fast EMI scans are crucial. Typical
radiated emissions scans from 30-1,000 MHz can be accomplished in
a GTEM in as little as 30 minutes. This makes the GTEM an excellent
product development tool for radiated emissions as well as immunity.
